Oaxaca, MX

Geoparadise works bio-regionally through the Centre for sustainable development Oaxaca (CSO) Rancho Encantado forming a dynamic foundation that works with governmental and private organizations to establish and run all programs, acquire funding and material support, provide technical and educational assistance to local communities as well as serving in marketing and representing all products generated by the region including international export and certifications of authenticity and organic standards.

All cooperative programs initiated by GeoParadise / CSO-Rancho Encantado are designed and structured to run independent and serve as direct opportunities for local inhabitants to benefit from cooperative representation and distribution while remaining self owned and operated.

These programs help local residents take full advantage of the vast local resources available to them by educating and organizing participants so they may increase their own productivity assuring sustainable longevity to the region and its future generations.

Other programs initiated by GeoParadise / CSO-Rancho Encantado serve to provide job opportunities for local inhabitants while serving the community in services rendered or products generated.

In efforts of preservation and investigation the actual ranch will serve as a bio-reserve for preserving the forest and potable water sources. It will be open for investigation and biological studies or preservation of endangered species. It will as well serves as home to educational programs, health and spiritual centres, eco-tourism projects and forum for examples in sustainable living with active examples of all eco-technologies, renewable energy sources, and permaculture systems.

The promotional and representative assistance given by GeoParadise / CSO-Rancho Encantado via Project Catalyst allow us to make new markets available for products, or services, offered, or generated locally, while bringing much needed technical, educational, and financial assistance to the region.

We have been now active for the last 3 years in the mountain and costal regions of Oaxaca, MX establishing infrastructures and start-up of such community outreach and developments programs like:

SOMOS:1 cooperative
ARteSANO
4futureFood
Bio:lodge_ El Encanto
All-ON
ABSRD

Each of these Projects will give birth to numerous initiatives and programs designed to help rural and local inhabitants make more efficient use of their lands and natural resources while promoting a ecologic approach to development and sustainable living.

CSO-Rancho Encantado has established Community Supported Agriculture  programs in which restaurants, hotels, and private citizens sign up with the ranch and for their membership support they receive a weekly supply of fresh seasonal produce and preserve products, with the option to receive dispenses of coffee, honey, meat, poultry or fish from one of the other cooperative programs.

By establishing these programs we allow the producers to sell direct to the consumer receiving a just price for their product and  stabilizing their markets providing longevity and sustainability to the producers involved.

CSO-Rancho Encantado has submitted an initiative with INICIATIVOMEXICO

It is a governmental program of support and financial aid to establish communal nurseries, for birthing and nurturing of young trees for national reforestation projects and edible forest programs.

We as well have begun on a local level raising young trees on site where the new Centre for Sustainable Development (CSO-Centro Sustentable de Oaxaca )is currently under construction.

CSO-Rancho Encantado has established a working model allowing inhabitants of the region to take better advantage of an abundant resource of the region. We implemented a simple and effective system of dehydration of mangos and production of marmalades.

This has proven to be a vital and effective program and new source of economic support for  poverty stricken region. We are now expanding producing a large variety of other dried and conserve products like sun dried tomatoes, assorted dried fruits and marmalades, and organic granola to help support this effort we have now designated large portions of land developing comestible forests  and are currently planning cashew, red and green pistachio, two varieties of almond, fields of sesame and peanut. (did you know that sesame is one of the highest pollen producers lending to the production of honey)

Through  programs like 4FutureFood, SOMO:1, and SUStiene we are starting to capacitate and educate local farmers in techniques of permaculture. We have begun  infra-structuring and implementing these techniques in the local lands, and ranches to reach our goal of sustainable producing quality organic food. These programs are vital to the health and longevity of the region and crucial to the development of the zone.
