hope all is well and that your ready for the good times ahead!!! in regards to the translation that need to be done, would i be able to try and translate and ask one of my new friends from Costa Rica to proof read? this would allow me to practice as well as do the work that is most time consuming. i would think it would only take someone fluent in Spanish a few minutes to make any small changes to the work.

hola crew!!! working with firefly on some things lol no work all play is the truth, we added some fun thoughts under the heohaven discussion board. any why we could have a title description posted that appears separate from the discussion title?

we've been playing around with magnets!!!

I can´t see any new posting in GeoHaven discussion board... ?¿ So, regarding descriptions, I cannot do it now with the native discussion board in the tribe, but I am planning to integrate a better forum component which will have more features, i.e. a pop up when you roll the mouse over the title with the description you want. Just need to have time to do it, we are busy now with the full moon parties and exploring to find the venue for the next Gathering. Probably when we are in NY in may I can crack on with more website development. My priority is first GeoHub, though, since it needs lots of work doing. Jeff is now in the programmers group, so we can start posting thoughts and needs in there. ;D Hugs! Noa

is there anyway that we could link the automatic emails that we receive for wall postings with facebook. so that when in geoparadise when we get a wall posting or someone adds something to a group or group discussion it will be posted on the facebook wall of everyone thats involved. i think this could help things grow a little faster being that everyone is more in touch with facebook both within and outside of the tribe.

i was talking to my roommate just now and were thinking what if the update that gets posted shows a bit of the original project description and below that was the latest updated comment. this would allow anyone that has been following the conversation to stay up to date without having to log into both places. it also helps new people that are looking at to understand what is going on.

Bloody good idea, but not available yet in Joomla as an out of the box solution. We can have here facebook comments, but it will only post it in the wall of the person doing a comment, so it´s not good enough to follow a conversation by a group of people. We need some sort of automatic rss subscription for group members that pings it to their facebook profile through an API. Ideally, specific for each project i.e. discussion thread.... Any programmers wanting to help??? I will pass this to the programmers group and see if there is any luck. It definitely will help both the projects and GeoParadise as a whole. Actually, and as I said in the email, it is the future of social networking. Integrations with facebook have to go far beyond our imagination so we can take advantage fully of the popularity of the mother network. They say 2011 is the year of social integration, so lets hope it is true!
What I am thinking is to integrate a proper forum inside GeoTribe group discussions, like Kunena or Agora, with the possibility of categories in the discussions (by area maybe, or type of project) and a selective subscription to the different discussion threads (= different ongoing projects) and get notified (email and hopefully facebook profiles!!) of changes in the project which someone is concerned with...not necessary all of them or when it get big people might get annoyed. I´ll carry on researching for this and asking the developers I know. Thanks for the tips

so i posted the Sinai water project and am planning to start directing people there. what do you think about letting people be able to view the groups before they become a member. i think it would help spread the news. this will give people the ability to see whats going on and if nothing else share it. maybe even talk to someone that is a member and hopefully they will add what they said. the best being they like what they see and then they join. i like the idea of people seeing what their signing up for.

At the end of the project description the words didnt appear to be coming through. half the line has a white bar covering it. not sure why? hopping you might now whats up.

i also added some info what materials and tools are available. i think this helps to keep the help local. i think this also helps the design because things like the clay make things more sustainable. what do you think about adding a ox on the left to list this information. im thinking coulombs that state: Name of tool or material, local or not (if not distance, im thinking this b/c of some things that will be needed but may not be there and will allow us to help the locals more), and cost. o and i think a box that only some people can check off confirming tis information. this way anyone can add things, just encase someone things of a tool that was missed. now that im thinking about it, it might be better if anyone can check it off to confirm its availability and it shows who confirmed it.

the task bar the is under the geohub would also work great under the project description. or at lest on the left side bar above the material information. a task box on the group page that list all the task for all the on going projects would serve well as a master list.

enjoy the sun!!! i just moved to stay for bit a with a friend in Elmira ny. woke up this morning with a fresh foot of snow. love it!!!

peace and love

really good ideas. Got to look into how to make them possible with the tools we are using. We´ve got a group for programmers and developers. We are using Joomla as a CMS. If you have fiends keen to help, could you get them please to join the group. Then we can put all this suggestions in there and let them help us. Some things can be done easily, but some others need customizing by a coder, who I am not. ;D
I am pretty sure groups are already visible for non registered users, you need to be logged in to join and write though. Try it and tell me if I am wrong.

clide3clide3 on Wednesday, 23 February 2011 09:36

so i logged out and tried to visit the groups page without any luck. on the main heading thats at the top of all the pages with the page tabs. what if the geocommunity tab had drop down options. one to log in and one to go straight to the groups page. could also put it on the log in page.

geocrewgeocrew on Sunday, 13 March 2011 14:38

aaah! ok, I got you. You mean that there isn't any way to find the group pages if you are not member. ok, I am on it!
